I saw your website although I rarely log on to my Compuserve account. The Silos part of my family is Greek. I don’t know how we are related. I think the original name may have been Psilos. Lourdes Silos is mother to Carmen Silos Gatchalian dva de Mendoza.
Carmen or "menchu" gave birth to three sons (she is now in Michigan married to Robert Curtis);  Noel Jonathan Gatchalian Mendoza (born October 30, 1958), Manolo Gatchalian Mendoza (born February 14, 1960), Antonio Luis Gatchalian Mendoza (born?, passed away at the age of 3 because of cerbral palsey).  Noel is in the Philippines as a Call Center Agent.  Manolo is in Canada.

Hi Bob. Just would like to give you a little background of my roots. My grandfather was Manuel Silos Pili, originally from san juan, metro manila,philipines. According to him, his father was Rafael Pili and his mother was Juliana Silos. At a young age, his mother died and he was adopted by Rosalio Silos. From then on he carried the Silos family name. He migrated to Bacolod City, Negros Occidental around 1890s and married Mercedes Siocon Bugarin from Talisay City, Negros Occidental. They had seven sons,namely, Leonardo, Manuel jr., Rafael, Arturo, Juan, Enrique and Fidel.My father is Juan Silos, married to Angeles Martin. Hope this information is useful to you. Thank you.

Marina Montinola Silos, turned 95 last july 24, wife of Arturo Bugarin Silos, passed away today (Aug.8,2011) at about 10am.  She  was found on her bed by her nursemaid in a state of unrest and she was immediately brought to the emergency room of Riverside hospital were she later died at about 11am. Her remains lies is state at Rollinghills memorial chapels this afternoon until Wednesday when her body will be brought to her hometown on San Enrique for further viewing there. Interment will be at the Bacolod Memorial Park.

Jose Maria Silos is my "Lolo Pipo" and my dad is Jose Maria Vilas Silos, Jr. My dad and Tita Nadya are half brothers so am actually her niece. Except for my health, all of us here in Japan are okay. That email address does not exists anymore, am only using this one now.

Regarding the pictures, I already asked Randa and my son, Jay to send the pictures to you. They have our old pictures and Aiko will help me send ours from Japan.

We won't be going back to PI as planned because the doctors here are better and you're right, the Gov't. here are taking good care of the elderly.
